This is an introductory learning field concerning software development. For this reason is also only of adaptation of software and not development of a software from scratch. One difficulty for the teachers is to provide suitable software, which can then be modified accordingly by the students. After a few years, there is usually enough software available to the teacher in the form of other student projects and so on.
The curriculum could also be designed in such a way that the students develop simple software themselves, which then has to be adapted to more demanding requirements.
